311 breaks from the studio for club tour, Caribbean cruise (Sound Spike)

With a new album on the horizon, Nebraska alt-rockers 311 will take on a round of club shows before embarking on a four-day Caribbean cruise.

Las Vegas will be the first stop on the tour, which gets underway Feb. 19 and continues along the West Coast before heading east. The eight-date excursion concludes March 1 in Charleston, SC, just two days before the crew climbs aboard a Carnival cruise for a four-day trip to Turks and Caicos. The full itinerary is shown at right.

Details about the sold-out cruise are available at the event's website.

According to a note posted on the band's site, the quintet is currently in the studio with producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi), working on a still-untitled album. The band worked with Rock on their ninth set, 2009's "Uplifter," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and marks the outfit's highest position to date.

The band is hoping to release the new album by summer.
