311 to perform in Nov. (OMAHA WORLD-HERALD)

Hometown heroes 311 will be swinging through town once again.

One of the most successful to come out of Omaha, 311 will perform with openers Kottonmouth Kings on Nov. 14 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, according to the band’s Web site.

Tickets to the show will go on sale Sept. 19 through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices have not yet been released.

The band’s ninth studio album, “Uplifter,” is its highest-charting record to date, hitting No. 3 on the Billboard charts after its June release.

After growing up in Omaha, band members left for Los Angeles in the 1990s. 311’s popularity blew up with the release of its self-titled album in 1995, which went on to sell more than 3 million copies.
