Anyone who enjoys the music, camping, and unity that summer music festivals such as Bonnaroo have to offer should take note of the recently announced 311 Pow Wow Festival.
The festival will be held on August 4th-6th in the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, a 500 acre campground in a remote area of Northern Florida. 311 will play four full sets over three nights of music, and for the first time ever, the band will be performing their album Transistor in its entirety. The festival will host a full roster of other popular artists that will be announced very soon, according to 311.com. [UPDATE- Sublime w/ Rome and The Dirty Heads have been added to the lineup thus far]
Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday, March 11th and are expected to sell out. 15,000 will be available for purchase with a price of $125 per ticket. Upgraded VIP packages will also be available for groups that wish to maximize their pow wow experience. More ticketing information can be found here.
Although the festival is rather small compared to other festivals such as Bonnarroo and Coachella, it should be an incredible experience not only for 311 fans, but music fans in general. The Suwannee River area is gorgeous and will be a fantastic location for the inaugural Pow Wow Festival. Concert-going music fans all over the country should mark their calendars, pack their gear, and prepare for three days of stress-free musical transcendence.
